Registering for preschool

We have been attending London Bridge Baptist Church and they actually have a really good preschool so I looked in to getting Kate registered for the fall. I found out that the Virginia cutoff date for pre-k is that the kid be 4 by September 30 instead of July 30 like Arkansas. We weren't planning on starting Kate in pre-k this year, but it can't hurt right?

All registered for pre-k!

Haircut Day

Sam was in DESPERATE need of a haircut and boy did he get one! I have learned something - when you live in a military community like we do ... telling the stylist to cut it short .. well, means its gonna be SHORT! But I actually really like it and he looks adorable!

finished product

Kate got her ends trimmed up and loved wearing the smock that had the unicorn on it.
Not a shocker there.

Happy 4th of July!

We were invited over to Paige, Eric, and little mr Eli's house to celebrate the 4th of July. They live in Sandbridge and there is a great fireworks display there each year.

Eric cooked a yummy smoked pork butt and everyone loved Paige's baked beans she made.

After dinner, we went down to the beach

Sam and Eli playing in the sand with their trucks.
Eli turned 2 back in March, but they are about the same size - HA!

I asked the kids to NOT get in the water

I guess they didn't hear that part.

Totally soaked!

and proud of it!

Watching the fireworks!
Sam loved them and kept saying BOOM!
Kate .. well, Kate wasn't a fan. She said they were too loud.
