Saturday

Saturday, we were invited to my new friend Paige's house for a playdate. I met her when we opened our new bank account here. She has a 2 year old little boy named Eli so we all decided to hit the beach near her house. She lives about 30 minutes from us (everything is pretty spread out here). Let me just say, her neighborhood is beautiful! It's what I think of when I think beach house. And it's more private type beach since it's really just locals that live there.

Saturday night, we went out to eat because mommy was craving seafood.
Sam loved his. HA!

These signs make me laugh. They are posted all over Atlantic Avenue which is the main raod of the Oceanfront area.

Beach Day

Someone is very excited to be at the beach

Running from the waves with a little boy from NY

ROARING at the waves

Sam was super grumpy since he woke up to early so he got put to sleep

So Sam can now check off sleeping on the beach from his bucket list.

A Morning at Mount Trashmore

We spent a cloudy morning at Mount Trashmore Park at the KidCove area. It is a huge playground area and the kids loved it! Apparently, it used to be a landfill, hence the name Mount TRASHmore.

SLIDING!

SWINGING!

Sam in the baby swing

And of course, he wanted to swing in the big swing!

She climbed all the way up there but needed mommy to get her down

Windy day

Be still my heart! That rock is TALL!

Sam was really just interested in picking up rocks and throwing them in the puddles.

Another Monday at the Library

We were ready for a few more books but this time we decided to go to another library. The library we went to last week was a little "sketch" to say the least. I knew it was time to go when we were there last time when a homeless dude told Kate she was "a pretty little thing." You would not believe how fast I grabbed my girl up and exited. Well, if you know me at all, you know how fast that happened.
So ... new library.
Sam loves these things!

Kate loved the media table

Even found a little friend

This picture just makes me giggle.

He really was watching the screen too!

All in all, this was a MUCH better library experience!
Kate came away with 6 books.

And mommy came away with 3.
I honestly cannot believe I am reading these.
I blame J.H., A.S, and S.C.

A visit to Harborfest

We saw advertising and Chris talked to a few guys at work about an event called Harborfest that was going on this weekend. We decided to go Sunday after church.
We rode "THE TIDE" downtown. The Tide is the local public transit and Kate and Sam both called it a choo choo train. They loved it!

The event is literally at the harbor so you can see tons of ships, yachts, and Navy ships.

Kate wanted her picture with the mermaid

And her favorite part of the whole day ...

getting a glitter rainbow and a unicorn painted on her face!!

Giving me her best pirate look! ARRRGH!

Giving the hammock a try. She really loved to swing in it!

And of course, Sam slept right through it all!

Saturday night on the boardwalk

Saturday night we decided to head down to the board walk and walk the pier.

Kate liked being out over "the sea" and we even saw a few people catch fish. She even said that she wanted PaPaw to cook her some fish.

Jumping off!

Walking the boardwalk. Sam kept reaching for the palm tree leaves.
The boardwalk stretches 40 blocks and it is always packed on the weekend summer nights.

It's a FAIRY!! Sam looks a little scared. Kate was fascinated. She said she was beautiful.

Sam thought it was really fun to walk down the boardwalk upside down.
