Today was a big day! We went to court to finalize Kate's adoption. We appeared in front of Judge Alice Gray and everything went great! Our social worker Janna from Bethany Christian Services (the adoption agency) was there as well as Kate's Grammy, Pops, and Nonnie. Kate's Pawpaw couldn't be there because of work, but we took lots of pictures! Our attorney Bill Waddell was wonderful and does a great job taking care of all the paperwork for us. It was all a formality but a very important day for our little family!
Kate got a little frog from Grammy and Pops and it came with an adoption certificate too! His name is Hops! It shows that Kate adopted Hops today as well! Thanks Grammy & Pops!

ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet day for your family! My mom, who was adopted, always talks about how she would try to get three Birthday presents (day she was born, day her parents got to take her home, and the day the paperwork was finalized). Her parents only let her celebrate two of the days, though. You'll have to watch out, cause Kate's got blog proof :) Congrats to all of you! I know that it was a special day.
